Brampton/IBNS: Downtown Brampton to Canada is once again ready to bring the sights and sounds of South Asian culture to life with Vibrant Brampton on Thursday and Friday.

Organized by the non-profit group Arts and Culture Initiative of South Asia (ACISA), the 7th Annual Vibrant Brampton presented by TD will feature a fun two-day outdoor festival in Garden Square, Brampton.

The two-day outdoor festival in Garden Square will kick off with Aditi Singh Sharma’s live concert with other artists, including a showcase of Indigenous arts by award-winning Canadian artist David R.

Aditi will perform her hit numbers with her band from Mumbai, India.

The open-air festival promises to bring an eclectic mix of programming which will include energetic performances by UK Punjabi pop singer – Jaz Dhami, who has over 30 singles and 4 albums and will have the crowd dancing and singing along to multiple taps of feet. Numbers. Some of his hit numbers include “High Heel the Nache” from the movie “Ki & Ka.

For lovers of Punjabi music, there is another feast for their ears – Canadian folk artist Bhangra – Geeta Zaildar.

“We are back in person for you! says co-founder Ricky Bajaj. “You will be able to rock and roll to the hit acts of Aditi, Jaz and Geeta, eat delicious food and shop. We have butter chicken, biryani, shawarma, burritos, samosas, gol Gappe, chaat papri, bhelpuri, clothing, jewelry and handicrafts from local businesses.

A special children’s party is planned this year with magic shows, face painting and community art projects on both days. To get the whole family involved, the festival offers free hands-on Bollywood and salsa dance workshops.

A fusion of culture and diversity in Ontario, Vibrant Brampton promotes local talent and features an exciting lineup of budding artists and well-known names in the entertainment industry that appeals to everyone.

“Vibrant Brampton aims to promote cross-cultural understanding in hopes of bringing together a diverse community in celebration of life, culture, art and tradition,” said Arpan Banerjee, Co-Founder.

Some of the Canadian artists this year include “Jadoo Entertainment”, Mudra Dance Academy, Shivanjali Dance School, Nachdi Jawani Group, R&B United Band and Aqua Nibii Waawaaskone and her Indigenous Artist Group.

Also new this year is the “In-Person” final round of the “Vstar Talent Hunt and Mentorship Program for Upcoming Canadian Artists” at the Cyril Clark Auditorium on July 9 and a classical music and dance concert on July 16. at the Lester B Pearson Theatre.

Stemming from the need and demand for a platform for local classical music and dance artists to showcase their art forms in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the idea for Vibrant Classical was born there. a few years old.

However, due to the pandemic, #Vstar and Vibrant Classical have been held in virtual formats for the past two years and this will be their first time as a live brick and mortar event.
