Terry Hall home sessions take place at the end of the month

The full lineup for a Coventry City of Culture music festival has been announced.
Held in iconic downtown locations, the Terry Hall in-home sessions run from Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, August 1, 2021.
The Specials singer invites some of the artists he has collaborated with over the years, his heroes and heroines, to come jam together in his hometown.
Second acts announced for the specially organized festival include hip hop rapper Whitey; & Internationally renowned DJ LAU.RA;
A special competition, Home Grown, will see local talent, with a focus on under-represented groups, selected ahead of Home Sessions, take the stage as support for internationally renowned headliners.
The jury is made up of Terry Hall and his creative producer Suzanne Bisset.
Following the government’s latest advice on Covid, 10,000 additional tickets will be distributed throughout the festival.
To make this event as safe and comfortable as possible, venues will continue to operate with reduced capacity, and in addition to non-socially distanced public spaces, a limited socially distanced area will be provided on a first come, first served basis. base within each site.
In addition to the iconic twin sites of the ruins of Coventry Cathedral and the New Cathedral, the festival will also occupy the brand new HMV Empire site, located nearby on Hertford Street.

“The in-home sessions will provide the audience with the chance to see the best mix of diverse and eclectic bands and musicians, performing live in a range of intimate and iconic Coventry spaces this summer.
“We are delighted that, in accordance with government guidelines, we are able to increase the capacity of a number of our concerts, and it is fitting that a music city like Coventry hosts one of the first major music festivals in take place after restrictions are eased this summer.
“As our live music business continues to reopen, we are excited to be able to increase the capacity of our venues, while maintaining provisions for those who need or would prefer a socially remote viewing experience. “
